How to Prepare Your Home to Sell
Written by Anton Stetner
Getting your home ready to sell can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be overwhelming. Here are some quick tips to help make the process easier!
Research local market trends.
Declutter, depersonalize, and clean!
Remove any excess furniture, knick knacks, family photos, and other personal items that could make the space look crowded, and ensure that all surfaces are free of dust and dirt. Make sure your home is clean and inviting. Clean the windows, dust all surfaces, mop and vacuum the floors, and make sure the kitchen and bathrooms are sparkling.

Start Packing!
The ultimate goal to selling your home is to move! Start gathering some boxes from your local grocery store, or friends or family. Pack up items you don't use very often; clothes in the back of your closet, things in the back of your cupboards and drawers, garage items, etc.

Make necessary repairs and updates.
Fix any broken items and add updated features. If your home is outdated, consider adding modern features such as new appliances and updated fixtures. Make sure to repair any cracks or scratches in the walls and floors. Once your home is clean, you can focus on making the space more inviting.

Stage the interior and exterior.
Arrange furniture to make the rooms look larger, put away any excess items, and add some homey touches like plants, throw pillows, or rugs to add some visual interest. Increase curb appeal. Make sure the lawn is freshly mowed, add some colorful flowers and plants, and pressure wash the siding and walkways.
