Types of Content To Post on Social Media

Social media is typically something that most people use to share their lives and connect with friends. When it comes to using it for business, each social media platform is deserving of a unique strategy for content and lead generation.

There is a business manager for Facebook and Instagram enables users to gain access to basic data and analytics. Twitter even allows sponsored ads. Creating content that is designed to perform at the highest level on each of these platforms requires time and money for planning and execution.

For content, you’re going to want to batch create, curate, and schedule content for each of your social media platforms. If you’re using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, definitely schedule each piece of content slightly different so it performs better. Content designed for Twitter is typically not going to do well on Facebook and the same usually applies from anything else to Instagram if the content isn’t high quality or breaking news.

What are the different types of content you should post?

Every social media platform loves media so you’ll need to find videos and photos to re-post while also creating new content to post as unique content. If you repost relevant community news in the form of articles or posts from new sources, then create a conversation surrounding that, social interaction can really start to take place.

Twitter and Instagram love breaking news and constant content being posted. It’s hard to tweet all the time so you’re probably better off taking one day a week and curating content that can then be scheduled over to Twitter. Instagram is now best-suited for using the story feature in quantity with quality interesting content, then leveraging the actual timeline for major announcements or moments. For us, Hootsuite and Buffer are the go-to platforms for scheduling content but which one you choose is ultimately up to you.
